The dream of providing quality health care services tailored to the needs of the Tucson community has its origins in the late 1960s. A handful of community leaders came together to bring medical care to the south and west areas of Tucson, and El Rio Health Center was born.

Continuing the tradition of meeting community needs, in 1988 El Rio OB/GYN Associates was established by Dr. Gerardo Carlos and Dr. Steven Rosenfeld to provide the Tucson community with affordable, high-quality women's healthcare.

At that time, we were the only OB/GYN physicians with offices on the west side of town. We have grown with the communities on the south and west sides of Tucson, and we continue to strive to provide you with the best healthcare possible!
