Our Mission
El Rio Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
whose mission is to provide philanthropic support to El
Rio Community Health Center. Through individuals,
private foundations and corporations, the Foundation
develops charitable resources to enhance the Health
Center’s programs and special projects, aid in capital
improvements, and build an endowment to provide
financial security for the future.
Incorporated in 1995, the Foundation began operations in
October of 2001. To date, it has raised over $4.4
million in support of El Rio programs and services.
QUALIFYING CHARITY
Gifts to the Foundation are deductible to the fullest
extent allowed by law. In addition, El Rio is a
“Qualifying Charity” in the state of Arizona. Up to $200
of your gift can be directly taken off your state income
tax (AZ Form 321). The first year in which you itemized
deductions (beginning in 1996) becomes your baseline
year. Any amount given by December 31st to El Rio
Foundation of up to $200 ($400.00 if you are married and
file a joint return) over and above the baseline year’s
deductions will cost you absolutely nothing when your
state taxes are due. It’s your choice.
OPTIONS FOR GIVING
We encourage donors to share with us how they would like
their gift utilized. Donations can be targeted to a
specific program (i.e., Inner-city Asthma Intervention)
