Welcome To El Rio Health Center! El Rio offers primary care services for the entire family. Our physicians, dentists and other professional staff are committed to providing comprehensive quality care six days a week. El Rio appreciates being your provider of choice. We are sincerely interested in maintaining a long-term relationship with you. For routine care, physicals and immunizations, please schedule your appointment in advance. Please call Member Services at 670-3909 between the hours of 7:30 am and 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday. Mornings between 8:00 am and 10:00 am are our busiest time. You may expect more timely telephone service for routine calls after 10:00am For urgent medical care needs after hours, please call 792-9893. You will be referred to the nurse helpline and will be assisted in making medically necessary care arrangements. Same Day Medical Needs At times you may need medical attention for acute problems that cannot wait days or weeks for an appointment. For same day appointments please call Members Services at 670-3909 between the hours of 7:30am and 4:00pm weekdays. Explain your needs to the Service Representative who will assist with your care arrangements. El Rio same day appointments are limited so please call early. Whenever possible, our staff will try to arrange such care with your primary physician. If he/she is not available, the appointment may be with another provider. For medical emergencies, go to the nearest hospital emergency room or call 911 immediately! A medical emergency is: · Choking - obstructed airway · Breathing Problems · Excessive Bleeding - when a bandage does not stop the bleeding · Chest pain - a feeling of pressure on chest · Broken Bone - bone is poking through the skin · Gunshot Wound · Sexual Assault
Upon registering as a new patient, we will ask you to select a primary care physician for you and your family. Pregnant women are offered a choice of obstetrician, nurse midwife or a family practitioner. Appointments for routine care should be scheduled with your primary care physician (PCP).
