Arthur N. Martinez, MD, MSHA
Medical Director/Chief Clinical Officer 

Dr. Martinez is an Arizona native and was raised in Flagstaff, AZ.   He obtained his BS and MD from the University of Arizona in Tucson.  He completed his occupational medicine residency at the University of AZ after a general surgery internship and urology residency at the University of TX.  Dr. Martinez initially began as a staff physician at El Rio in 1986 and after obtaining his Master of Science in Health Administration from the University of CO, he became the Medical Director of a Medicaid HMO in CA.  Dr. Martinez has been the Medical Director at El Rio since 1993 and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Western Clinician Network, the Arizona Association of Community of Health Centers, and the El Rio Foundation.  In the past he has competed in mini-triathlons and he continues to run, cycle, and swim.  He also enjoys hiking with his wife and daughter.
