El Rio Health partners with a variety of agencies to collaborate on important research investigations to improve the health and wellness of our community. The Research Review Committee at El Rio Health has the fiduciary responsibility to ensure that our patients are not subject to unethical or exploitative research practices. To this end, we require all research efforts to be formally reviewed by our committee for approval. The El Rio Research Review Committee is not an IRB, and we rely on external IRB approval as one element of our review. El Rio cannot dedicate any internal resources for logistical or data analytics support for non-funded external research projects.

If your project has been designated as a quality improvement project, please work with your El Rio Sponsor and the Quality Improvement Committee to develop, implement, and disseminate your project. Approval from the Quality Improvement Committee is required prior to project commencement, but a research submission form is not required.
