The dream of providing health services tailored to the needs of the Tucson community has its origins in the late 1960's. A handful of community leaders came together to bring medical care to the south and west areas of Tucson, and El Rio health Center was born.

Continuing the tradition of filling community needs, in 1988 El Rio OB/GYN Associates was established by Dr. Gerardo Carlos and Dr. Steven Rosenfeld to provide the Tucson community with affordable high quality women's health care.

At that time, we were the only OB/GYN physicians with offices on the west side of town. We have grown with the communities on the South and West sides of Tucson and continue to strive to provide you with the best health care possible.

Getting exceptional care is easy at El Rio OB/GYN Associates. At our offices, a closely knit family of Obstetrician/Gynecologists work together to give you complete care, combined with personal attention and convenience. Our staff is dedicated to your health care. They have worked with us for many years and understand the importance of your satisfaction. All of our staff are bilingual.

Delivering over 1200 babies a year, El Rio OB/GYN Associates provide full obstetrical care. During your pregnancy, you are seen by your own doctor and nurse. Ultrasound exams are performed in our office along with fetal non-stress tests and biophysical profiles for high risk pregnancies. We consult with perinatologists, when appropriate, at Tucson Medical Center. Our patients deliver at Tucson Medical Center, which is located at the intersection of Grant and Craycroft (Southeast entrance).

El Rio OB/GYN Associates offer complete care for women through every stage of life. A full array of gynecologic services are available. We provide routine gynecologic care, menopausal services, including HRT counseling, and oncology services. Many gynecological procedures are performed in the office setting.
