Thank you for your interest in volunteering at El Rio Community Health Center. We offer many varied opportunities and have 16 clinic sites from which to choose. Please review our areas or assignments available which are listed below.

After completing the application and background check forms (Word), please email both forms to Leandra Olson at Leandra@mypcap.org or mail them to El Rio Community Health Center, 839 West Congress Street, Tucson, AZ 85745, Attention: Leandra Olson, PCAP.

NOTE:  If you are a student requesting externship, please contact your placement counselor for availability.


The following are areas/assignments for which El Rio would welcome volunteer assistance:

1. Administrative Tasks
Filing, copying, typing, preparing mailings, preparing for group visits, checking inventory, appointment reminder calls, completing administrative audits, report running, etc.

2. Facility Organization
Reception straightening, provision of magazines, patient education materials, identification of areas needing cleaning/repair, updates to Communication Boards, etc.

3. Patient Greeting at Reception
Greeting, Customer Service

4. Support for Patient Care
Support for patient and community health education programs, group visits, health fairs, community outreach activities, etc.

Reading5. Grant Support
Research for grants and funding sources, data management, helping with reporting

6. Special Talents
Musician, Artist, Magician, Face Painting

7. Special Events
Golf Tournament, Raise the Pepper Dinner, Pascua Yaqui Holiday Party, Adopt- A-Family, etc.

8. Reach Out and Read
Reading in various clinics with children, book distribution, etc.


VOLUNTEER BILL OF RIGHTS

  1. The right to be treated as a "valued member of the team".

  2. The right to a suitable assignment, with consideration of personal preference, temperament, and experience.

  3. The right to receive an orientation and training for assigned work.

  4. The right to be treated with respect and honor.

  5. The right to participate in staff meetings and in-service trainings.

  6. The right to be reimbursed for-out-of-pocket expenses approved by the Clinic Manager/Department Director.
