The El Rio Vecinos are a group of young professionals with a collective goal to help make a difference in our Tucson community. These high-energy, passionate, committed volunteers, ages 25-40 years old, work together to raise money to help children get the health care they need and deserve through their signature fundraiser, the Vecinos Block Party. They network with each other and the community on behalf of El Rio Community Health Center and El Rio Foundation. For membership information, please visit elriovecinos.com.
Vecinos translates to neighbors, which is how El Rio Community Health Center was started in 1970. It was through the cooperation and support of Tucson neighbors and several organizations that a true community consumer-based health center was established that has grown from one site on the west side to multiple locations in Tucson.
El Rio Vecinos Executive Committee: Shaima Namazifard, Daniela Siqueiros, Nate Eggman, Courtney Hoyt, Shauna Vasquez, Santana Hancock, and Nicole Romero.
