El Rio Community Health Center, based in Tucson, Arizona, opened its first clinic in 1970. Today, we have multiple health centers throughout the community, and our practice continues to grow.

The following are areas and assignments where El Rio welcomes volunteer assistance:

  • Administrative Tasks Filing, copying, typing, preparing mailings, preparing for group visits, checking inventory, making appointment reminder calls, completing administrative audits, report running, and many other opportunities.
  • Facility OrganizationReception straightening, provision of magazines, patient education materials, identification of areas needing cleaning/repair, and updates to Communication Boards
  • Patient Greeting at ReceptionGreeting, Customer Service
  • Support for Patient Care Support for patient and community health education programs, group visits, health fairs, and community outreach activities
  • Grant Support Research for grants and funding sources, data management, and helping with reporting
  • Special Talents Musician, Artist, Magician, Face Painting
  • Special Events Golf Tournament, Annual Gala Dinner, Pascua Yaqui Holiday Party, Adopt-A-Family, and many others
  • Reach Out and Read Reading with children at various health centers locations and distributing books.
