El Rio Health Research


El Rio Research Statement:

El Rio Health partners with a variety of agencies to collaborate on important research investigations to improve the health and wellness of our community. The research committee at El Rio Health has the fiduciary responsibility to ensure that our patients are not subject to unethical or exploitative research practices. To this end we require all research efforts to be formally reviewed by our committee for approval. The El Rio research committee is not an IRB, and we rely on external IRB approval as one element of our review. El Rio cannot dedicate any internal resources for logistics support or data support for non-funded external research projects.

El Rio Research Steps:

  1. Complete and submit the request form below
    1. Your submission will be routed to our research administrator for review
  2. Following initial review, the research administrator will contact you with the next steps
  3. If you are asked to provide more information, you will receive instruction to complete a full application; please answer all questions and upload the necessary documents
  4. Once your full research proposal is submitted to El Rio, the Research Oversight Subcommittee will review your study and all materials – you will be contacted during this process if they have any questions and/or concerns
    1. 1-2 weeks after submission
  5. After subcommittee approval, your proposal will be routed to the El Rio Patient Safety & Therapeutics Committee for approval (1st Thursday of every month)
  6. After PS & T Committee approval, your proposal will be routed to the Clinical Advisory Committee for approval (3rd Wednesday of every month)
  7. Following all approvals, the research administrator will contact you and you may begin your research at El Rio
